These conventions are used for naming hosts.
Local machines are named using a unique identifier that describes the machine. Typically, this is taken from its function or some other identifier (such as a unique model name). Examples follow.
pavilion: HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (laptop)
Hosts running within a VirtualBox environment are named according to function. The following names are currently assigned to such hosts.
drupal7x: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS running nginx with Drupal 7.x
