Programming

I trained as a programmer in 1990, coding in RPG/III on an IBM System/38. I worked as a permie for a few years, than as a contractor. I haven't programmed professionally since 1996, when I moved into consultancy, but programming is like riding a bike: you don't forget how.

• 1990—1994: AS/400; RPG/400, CL, SQL/400
• 1992—1995: Windows 3/3.11/for Workgroups; Gupta SQLWindows, SQLBase
• 1994—present: Linux, OpenBSD; C, Bourne/Korn shell, AWK, Tcl/Tk, expect, etc., etc.

I solved my first Project Euler problem on 22nd December 2012. I continue to work on problems now and again, but alas! I fear the site adminstrators are adding problems more quickly than I can solve them!
