Too much work. ---------- (311) #5 Kent Nassen (kentn) Fri, Apr 1, 2011 (21:39). 4 lines. At least while I'm working. SSI-exec was turned down, by the way. The thing is we'll need keep adding new directories all the time if this goes for a lot of people. It's possible but we'd need to be careful. ---------- (311) #6 Richard J. Wallner (richard) Sat, Apr 2, 2011 (16:04). 4 lines. re #0 'restart with a local focus'? what does that mean? Turn grex into a local a2 area focused website? isn't hvcn still around for those who want that? ---------- (311) #7 Mary Remmers (mary) Sat, Apr 2, 2011 (16:17). 3 lines. Grex won't be turned into anything new - that boat has sailed. If or when Grex ends there will probably be some new way to get folks together. It may build on lessons learned from Grex but it won't be Grex. ---------- (311) #8 Kent Nassen (kentn) Sat, Apr 2, 2011 (16:24). 19 lines. Yes, the talk was about focusing more on local AA matters as there are a lot of people in AA who have a lot of opinions to share. And an argument that someone else is already doing something so Grex shouldn't? That's awfully short-sighted. Note that this was just discussion at the board meeting and we need to engage in that sort of discussion much more often. It's too easy to focus on the cost of pencils and ignore the big decisions we need to make. But if people want to criticize, we'll go back to discussing the cost of pencils (figuratively speaking). Then people can criticize about the lack of discussion on Grex's future. I don't think we'll necessarily become AA-focused, exclusively, as we have many people from around the US and the world who use Grex, so we wouldn't want to turn them away. But it wouldn't hurt to attract more AA folks to Grex and give them a place to talk about local issues. Nor would it hurt to attract other groups from other places who want to share opinions.
